Updated.... It turns out that Hailey's commended score was a 100 ! Can't get any better than that! :)
Hailey received a commended score on her 5th Grade Science TAKS Test! Way to go Hailey! I'm so proud of you!!
You're moving on to 6th Grade... it's hard to believe how fast time flies. It seems like it was just yesterday that we came home from the hospital to our home in Weatherford, Texas. What a joyful day! Being a Mother and having children is an awesome gift from God! I love you more than you'll ever know.

Tidbits about Kelly
An AM and PM tidbit about Kelly...
1) She whimpered a little this morning when we were brushing her hair. This is very normal as she is the one who is tender headed. She said "I don't want long hair anymore. I want hair like Mae Mae because she only has to brush her hair a little bit."
2) She came home today minus another tooth (#2). She was all smiles bragging about how she wiggled it with her shirt, then pulled it. We're not sure what happened to the tooth. She said she had it in her hand while she was waiting for me to pick her up from school. She actually acted shocked when I asked her were it was. She was a little confused that it was no longer in her hand. Accidents happen and I'm sure the tooth fairy understands too!

3 kids = 6 ear infections
Steve took Hailey to the doctor Friday afternoon... double ear infection.
Steve took Brooke to the doctor Tuesday morning... double ear infection.
Steve took Kelly to the doctor Tuesday morning... double ear infection.
Three kids... six ear infections... and four prescriptions later we're all feeling better!
It's been 76 years

It's been 76 years since my Dad has been in the hospital. He turned 76 in January. You got it... he's never spent the night in the hospital his entire life... hard to believe! He had a short visit there recently after finding out after routine lab work that his red blood count was extremely low. They admitted him for blood transfusions and a procedure to check his stomach. These pictures were taken after 8 attempts to get his IV started, but before the transfusion and the test was done. He doesn't look sick to me! He wasn't, very strange; he had no idea anything was wrong. It turns out he has a stomach ulcer causing the blood loss and will be able to begin the healing process with meds. A day and a half later, he's back at home! We're so glad to know it wasn't anything serious.

Music to my ears
Here is a conversation between Brooke and I while picking out school clothes Sunday night.
Carmen: Brooke, what do you think about this outfit for school tomorrow?
Brooke: I don't want to wear that.
I pretend to look for other options, but eventually go back to the outfit already picked out.
Carmen: Brooke, is this okay for school tomorrow?
Brooke: I don't like it, but I don't want to stress you out so I'll wear it.
Carmen (with a big smile on my face): Brooke, those words are music to my ears!
I walk out of her bedroom repeating "those words are music to my ears, those words are music to my ears..."
Monday morning:
Carmen: Do you like your outfit now that you have it on?
Brooke: Yes (with a big smile on her face), I love it!
Wow! Brooke is typically picky about what I pick out. I was so proud of her for not wanting to stress me out!

Dear Peggy,
Here are the cows you were looking for when I was taking your picture with Pops and the girls on Saturday. They were really watching me. I tried to get closer, but they got scared and walked away. Perhaps it was Brooke who scared them and not me. She was running towards the fence not walking.
Enjoy!
~Carmen
P.S. - those of you who don't know, the cows belong to my parents, not me.

A visit from someone special...
Pops and Mae Mae came to visit and what a nice visit it was! We were all so happy to see them; after all, it's been 3 months now since we left Arlington. Wow... hard to believe... time really does fly! They came in on Thursday, 4/30, and picked Kelly up from school. Kelly knew they were picking her up and she was so excited she had a hard time going to sleep on Wednesday night; however, was speechless when they arrived. They said all she could do was smile! Kelly is also know as smiley. She didn't say a word until they were in the truck heading to our house. They also had the opportunity to greet Hailey and Brooke as they got off the school bus, visit their schools as well as each lunch with them. Pops and Kelly had lunch with Hailey and Mae Mae had lunch with Brooke. Mae Mae said Brooke didn't talk the entire lunch. She only answered Mae Mae's questions by shaking her head. When asking Brooke why she didn't talk, she informed me it's because she is shy! Whatever!! The Minor girls don't have a shy bone in their bodies. We also enjoyed good food... at Fajita Jack's and Sam's Boat and spent each evening just visiting and catching up. My parents came over on Thursday night to visit. It's not very often that the girls are with all 4 grandparents at the same time so that was a nice treat. Larry and Peggy - thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedules to come spend a few days with us and to see what our new life is like in Montgomery. I love you both and look forward to our next visit!
