It's definitely summer...

and oh so very HOT here! I definitely miss the weather in Arlington. It was much nicer than what we get here in Montgomery County.

On another summer note... Hailey and Brooke are staying home this summer. Here is their summer schedule (which by the way costs much less than daycare)...

MONDAY: At home all day - my plan was for this to be a lazy day following busy weekends.

TUESDAY: Kaylee, my cousin Jeff's step daughter, who will be in 9th grade next year comes for awhile; between the hours of 9 AM and 3:30 PM

WEDNESDAY: My sister Yvonne picks them up around 10:30 AM and they take advantage of the summer program at the local library and then enjoy lunch out at the location of their choice (McDonald's, Subway, etc... our locations are somewhat limited in Montgomery). She stays with them until 4 PM.

THURSDAY: Repeat of Tuesday. Last week they enjoyed watching movies and playing games. Kaylee is a sweet girl and my girls really enjoyed their time with her.

FRIDAY: Carol, my cousin, picks them up after lunch and takes them swimming for the afternoon.

Note: Just for the record and as a reminder in case you have forgotten... my parents are next door.

Thanks to the following: Kaylee, Yvonne and Carol for spending time with the girls and to Mom for playing taxi and getting Kaylee to our house on her scheduled days.

Our first full week of summer went surprisingly smooth. I actually told Hailey today how proud I was of her for playing the role of BIG SISTER very well. She's proven to be very responsible and had made going to work for me much easier.

I'm debating pulling Kelly from daycare early. My original plan was to pull her out closer to her start of Kindergarten, but after 11+ years of paying daycare I keep thinking about the money I can save (or not really save, actually pay to someone else) by making the break now. She had a trial run today at home with Hailey and Brooke. Kelly was thrilled; but I believe the other two were not so thrilled. Something to think about... I hope I make the right decision.
